In an excellent article which I just discovered online at Crosswalk.com, writer Paul Coughlin argues that Christian parents are often guilty of going way overboard in their efforts to shelter their kids from the evil in the world. He says that such parents are actually guilty of neglecting a very important part of the gospel. The end result is passive, "nice" kids who are poorly prepared to engage in spiritual battle in a world which is increasingly hostile to Christianity and its values. Amen to that!
I could add more comments on that subject, but my time online these days is limited, so for the time being, I think I'll just link to that article and let you ponder Paul's words.
